FAQs
Bring greater benefits to humanity through solar energy
What are the electrical performance parameters of conventional photovoltaic modules?
The electrical performance parameters of photovoltaic modules include open circuit voltage (Voc), input current (Isc), operating voltage (Um), operating current (Im), and maximum output power (Pm).
When the positive and negative poles of the module are short-circuited and U=0, the current is the short-circuit current. When the positive and negative poles of the module are not connected to the load, the voltage between the positive and negative poles of the module is the open circuit voltage.
The maximum output power depends on the solar irradiance, spectral distribution, module operating temperature, and load size. Generally, the test is conducted under STC standard conditions (STC refers to the AM1.5 spectrum, an incident radiation intensity of 1,000 W/m2, and a module temperature of 25°C).
The operating voltage is the voltage corresponding to the maximum power point, and the operating current is the current corresponding to the maximum power point.
How to choose Gokin Solar's monofacial and bifacial modules?
Given the current price difference between monofacial and bifacial modules, when the back of the bifacial module is unobstructed, the additional light on the back significantly enhances power generation. Additionally, the dual-glass encapsulation structure of bifacial modules offers better resistance to environmental corrosion, such as moisture and salt spray. However, for installations on mountainous terrain or flat distributed systems, monofacial modules are a more suitable choice.
What are the repair tools and auxiliary materials for Gokin junction boxes?
List of repair tools for the junction box: Tools: slotted screwdriver, utility blade, diagonal pliers, electric soldering iron (temperature 450°C±10°C, 6P soldering iron head), multimeter Auxiliary materials: cotton gloves, solder wire, potting glue (Baiyun (A: B=6±0.5:1), Huitian (A: B=6±0.5:1)).
What is the main technology behind Gokin modules? What are the reasons?
Gokin modules are mainly based on the N-type TOPCon technical route.
The reasons for selecting this route are as follows:
(1)High photoelectric conversion efficiency and great potential for efficiency improvement. At present, the mass production efficiency of N-type TOPCon cells is around 24.9%-25.2%, and the theoretical limit efficiency is 28.7%. Compared with the theoretical limit efficiency, the mass production efficiency of N-type TOPCon cells still has a lot of room for optimization, making the efficiency improvement path clearer and more specific.
(2)The bifaciality rate is as high as 85%. The high bifaciality of N-type modules alone can bring a power generation gain of 2.03% or even higher.
(3)Low attenuation, leading quality assurance. The power warranty of N-type modules can reach 30 years, and the attenuation in the first year is less than 1%, which ensures that the output power after 30 years is no less than 87.40% of the original output power;
(4)The temperature coefficient is better, at -0.29%/℃, and the module output power decreases with the increase of temperature;
(5)Excellent reliability. According to test results, all indicators of N-type modules are better than IEC test standards;
(6)Better weak light performance. N-type cells have higher internal resistance, longer lifetime, and naturally have better weak light response. Compared with traditional PERC modules, N-type modules have better response to weak light, and the power generation time in the morning and evening is extended by up to about 1 hour.
What are the material selection criteria for Gokin modules?
The core material criteria for module products are based on the leading advantage in N-type silicon wafer technology to ensure the quality of battery cells. Qualified suppliers of other materials are all first-tier module auxiliary material suppliers in the industry. We have reached strategic cooperation agreements with various leading suppliers, and are superior to most companies in terms of brand strength and material reliability of the resource pool.
(1)Product design: Gokin has established optical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal design model theories in material selection, and comprehensively analyzed product value based on experimental results, historical experience, and application scenarios.
(2)Material selection: Gokin designs targeted tests based on material characteristics and selects suppliers with high financial health. Modules made of new materials must pass strict reliability tests.
(3)Product planning: Product and material standardization ensure production continuity and material versatility.
(4)Reliability verification: Gokin modules have advanced laboratories, and the experimental results are recognized by third-party organizations. The products have passed strict internal reliability tests and performed well in the strict tests by third-party organizations.
(5)Manufacturing: Highly automated production lines, quality assurance at both base and headquarters levels, marketing supervision, and AI intelligent identification ensure quality.
How long is the warranty period for Gokin modules?
The warranty period for Gokin modules is 12 years. Under normal conditions, monofacial modules are designed to maintain high-efficiency power generation for 25 years, while bifacial modules can sustain this level of performance for up to 30 years.
Do Gokin modules have a quality management system?
Currently, Gokin Solar has multiple quality management certificates such as Intellectual Property Management System, ISO14064 Greenhouse Gas Emissions, ISO14067 Product Carbon Footprint Certification, ISO9001 Quality Management, ISO14001 Environmental Management, ISO50001 Energy Management, and ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management.
How can I purchase Gokin modules? What are the prices?
Due to varying local policies, including factors like shipping costs and tax rates, the specific selling price and tiered delivery policy may vary. For details, please consult the relevant regional sales representatives. The company has a strong pricing control system in place. However, at present, Gokin offers better value and service advantages compared to competitors.
